The dairy youth program offers many opportunities for dairy youth and volunteer leaders to increase their dairy knowledge and skills in four general areas: dairy industry knowledge, dairy cattle judging, dairy cattle fitting and showing, and dairy industry promotion. The information on this website is provided to support and enhance educational programming for dairy youth in the Commonwealth.

State Fair Junior Dairymen's Contest

The State Fair Junior Dairymen's Contest was held on Friday, September 26, at the Richmond Raceway Complex. It marked the last year the fair will be held at the raceway. Next year's contest will be held at the new State Fairgrounds in Caroline County. A total of 145 youth participated in this year's contest.

First place: Brittany Bowman (North Fork Middle FFA)
Second place: Allison Ruhlman (Elkton Middle FFA)
Third place: Whitney Bowman (North Fork Middle FFA)

First place: Paula Craun (Rockingham 4-H)
Second place: Karl Paulson (Rockingham 4-H)
Third place: Rusty Jenkins (James Wood FFA)
